Phases of Phonic Progression
Follifoot Farm and Jelly and Bean books are graded within the phases of phonic progression as outlined below. Information about the phases of phonic progression can be found in the official website for Letters and Sounds at

Phase 1 relates to speaking and listening skills. We do not provide resources for this phase.
Phase 2 teaches the phoneme/grapheme correspondences of 19 the letters of the alphabet a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, k, l, m, n, o, p, r, s, t, u, as well as the double letters ff, ll, ss and the consonant digraph ck.
The tricky words the, I, go, no, to are also introduced at this stage.
Phase 3 teaches the phoneme/grapheme correspondences for:
the remaining letters of the alphabet q, v, z, w, j, x, y,
the consonant digraph phonemes |ch|, |sh|, |th|, |ng,
and one grapheme of each of the other 15 vowel phonemes of the English language.
However, neither Jelly and Bean nor Follifoot Farm have books to cover all the phonemes at this level.
The phonemes |ae|, |ee|, |ie|, |oe|, |ue|, |ar|, |ow|, |or|, |er|, |oo| are covered, but the phonemes |oi|, |ur|, |air|, |ear|, |ure| are not covered.
Phase 4 teaches the blending of adjacent consonants at the beginning and end of simple words.
The Jelly and Bean books for this phase use only the vowels a, e, i, o, u in words with adjacent consonants.
Phase 5 teaches most of the alternative graphemes/spellings for the vowel phonemes of the English language
The Jelly and Bean Long Vowel Series introduces the graphemes: ay, ee, oo, ea, ai, oa, a-e, i-e, o-e, ow, y, ie, ue, ew, igh, u-e in that order.
The Jelly and Bean English Vowels Series introduces the graphemes ow, er, ou, oo, ar, or, ur, ir, oi, ear, aw/au, ea, air/are in that order.
